The Commercial Graduate will join the Operational Commercial Team, supporting the Contract Manager in delivering effective commercial management across the Energy and Environment (E&EI) Business. This entry-level role is designed to develop commercial, contractual, and business management skills within a structured and supportive environment. The Commercial Graduate will gain experience in all aspects of pre- and post-contract commercial activities while contributing to the business’s objectives in accordance with Amentums’ commercial policies and procedures. Key Aims and Objectives: Develop a sound understanding of commercial management within the E&EI business. Support the preparation of tenders and assist in the administration of contracts. Gain exposure to commercial risk management, change control, and project governance. Build confidence in working across multiple stakeholders to support delivery teams. Contribute to maintaining Amentums’ commercial governance and compliance standards. Key Responsibilities & Accountability: Support the Contract Manager and wider team to ensure compliance with Amentums’ Delegation of Authority (DOA) Matrix, policies, and procedures. Assist with the preparation and coordination of tender and contract documentation in accordance with commercial governance requirements. Learn to interpret and review key contractual terms and conditions, identifying potential commercial risks under supervision. Maintain accurate and up-to-date commercial records, including frameworks, variations, and approvals, in the relevant internal systems. Support the collation and reporting of commercial data for internal reviews and audits. Engage with internal stakeholders (Operations, Legal, Finance, Insurance, Tax, etc.) to support commercial administration and decision-making. Participate in internal review processes to build understanding of project approval and risk assessment procedures. Assist project teams in administering change control, early warnings, and variations. We are looking for candidates who: Have completed an undergraduate or master’s degree (e.g. Business, Law, Quantity Surveying, Finance, or similar) level qualification in a commercially related discipline by summer 2026. And with the following Key Skills & Attributes: A placement or work experience in a commercial, procurement, or project-based environment is advantageous but not essential. Genuine interest in developing a career in commercial management and contract administration. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative and proactive mindset. Awareness of basic commercial and contract law principles (can be developed on the job). Organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively. Good IT literacy, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Enthusiastic, curious, and eager to learn from experienced professionals within a project-driven environment. You must be: A flexible self-starter, who is keen to drive their career forward. Adaptable to change, with a thirst for learning new things. Have the permanent right to work in the UK. Our Graduate Programme assumes that participants are commencing their first professional role post-graduation. To qualify for our Graduate Programme, you must therefore have: Completed your first degree no earlier than the summer of 2024. Not worked in a similar professional role since graduation.
