Summary of position:
The Site Operative is an important position at the heart of our day-to-day operations.You will be responsible for effectively operating the facility and undertaking various maintenance tasks. You will also ensure that the site areas are kept clean, tidy, and dry at all times, ensuring full compliance with health and safety standards. The Site Operative will also be responsible for taking samples for laboratory testing and safely carrying out weighbridge and feedstock acceptance duties. This is a varied and versatile role that will suit someone similarly versatile who is able to work under their own initiative.
Responsibilities:
Ensure high levels of Health, Safety and Environmental practice with a duty of care to yourself and others.
Operate the facility in line with policy and procedure.
Keeping the facility clean, dry and tidy at all times.
Carry out weighbridge and feedstock acceptance duties when required.
Assess incoming and outgoing loads for quality.
Responsible for safe vehicle loading/unloading.
Safely and effectively monitor the operation of the process.
Identify process issues & seek assistance from Maintenance.
Provide assistance to and supervision of contractors working on site.
Record and document all process information and analysis results.
Ensure downtime is limited and plant is running optimally at all times.
Assist with and complete various maintenance tasks under supervision, unless signed off on.
Take samples for analysis as required.
Report any contamination.
Report any accidents or incidents.
Report any damage and/or anything suspicious immediately.
Assist site management when required.
Ensure Stock control measures are adhered to as per site requirements.
Qualifications and skills:
Must be able to work outside
Must be willing to work with food waste
Must use own initiative
Basic Computer literacy
Maintenance or plant operating experience preferred but not essential, training provided.
