Whitgift is a leading independent day and boarding school for boys, with approximately 1500 pupils including over 100 boarding pupils and flexi boarding pupils. It is set in an attractive 48-acre parkland site in South Croydon enjoying excellent links to London, Surrey and the south coast.
During the summer holidays, Whitgift runs its own summer school for international students, utilising all its fantastic facilities and modern boarding house. Whitgift Summer School, with its innovative and exciting English language and academic courses, along with activities which involve English speaking students, is designed to appeal to girls and boys aged 11-17 from all over the world.
We are seeking to appoint a Student Experience Coordinator who will have responsibility for the pastoral care and well-being of all the students at the summer school and who is responsible for organisation of Excursions in addition to assisting the Course Director. The Student Experience Coordinator is line managed by the Course Director. They will also work with the other Summer School departments to ensure the students’, their parents and agents, needs are met.
Applicants will have a degree and previous people management and leadership experience, Experience of working with children in a summer school, residential or boarding context, and experience of working with different nationalities. The ability to lead, supervise and engage with staff and young learners is essential. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required, as is the ability to work calmly, effectively and positively, even whilst under pressure. Proficiency in spoken and written English is essential.
