Main Duties of the Job
About the Role
The primary focus of this role is the delivery of high‑quality dispensary induction and training for pharmacy trainees and newly appointed pharmacy staff within the inpatient dispensary.
You will:
* Deliver structured dispensary training and induction programmes
* Support trainee pharmacists, trainee pharmacy technicians and pharmacy support staff throughout their learning journey
* Provide mentorship, guidance and tailored feedback to support individual development
* Assist in planning and delivering CUH pre‑registration training programmes
* Support internal and external careers events, work experience placements and Pharmacy open days
* Contribute to the ongoing development of educational resources and training materials
* Help monitor training compliance, induction completion and quality assurance processes
Alongside your education and training responsibilities, you will maintain and develop your professional practice by participating in dispensary duties including dispensing, accuracy checking and medicines management activities.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the GPhC Accredited Checking Technician (National Framework)
* Checking accreditation – one or all of: Medicines Management Accreditation, Medicines Reconciliation Accreditation, Preparative Services Checking Accreditation
* Attendance at Train the Trainer course or equivalent
* Certificate in Medicines Management for Pharmacy Technicians (CMMPT)
* Member of APTUK
* Registered member with CPPE
Experience
* Experience of supporting the training of others
* Supervision of other staff
* Experience of working in a busy dispensary
* Experience of working in a UK hospital pharmacy
* Experience of providing feedback to others
Knowledge
* Good general knowledge of IT systems
* Knowledge of current legislation regarding Controlled Drugs
* Knowledge and use of Word, PowerPoint and Excel
* Knowledge of the GPhC requirements for the training of trainee pharmacists and pre‑registration trainee pharmacy technicians
* Knowledge of using virtual communication platforms (e.g. MS Teams)
