We have recently been named as a Delivery Partner for the Environment Agency’s latest framework, aiming to better understand climate change impacts and flood risks in England. Under the 2024 Mapping and Modelling Framework, AtkinsRéalis will provide survey, mapping, modelling, incident management, hydrological, and other professional services to aid climate event planning and response. This significant program will enhance understanding of climate change effects and help reduce flood risks to communities, supporting vital response efforts.

Expertise: Proficiency in 1D and 2D modelling for rivers, surface water, and coastal areas.

Requirements:
We are seeking Associate Consultants, Engineers, and Modelers with experience in flood risk projects, particularly hydraulic modelling, and leadership capabilities to mentor junior staff. Strong client relationship skills and collaborative working are essential.
* Experience: Extensive experience in flood risk analysis, project delivery, and client requirements.
* Technical Skills: Proficiency in 1D-2D modelling tools like Infoworks ICM, Flood Modeller, TUFLOW/ESTRY, HEC-RAS, GIS (ArcGIS, MapInfo, QGIS), and hydrological assessment (FEH, UK hydrology).
* Leadership: Experience in leading technical teams.
* Decision-Making: Ability to make robust decisions based on data.
Chartered status is valued, and we support professional development for those without current memberships.
Responsibilities:
* Perform detailed technical work, including hydraulic modelling, data analysis, GIS, and reporting, ensuring quality assurance.
* Manage and mentor junior team members, support project management, and oversee project progress.
* Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and provide consistent client service.
* Support business development, including tendering and stakeholder engagement.
* Contribute to the development of the Flood Risk Team through active participation in technical networks.
