As a Middle Manager the post holder will provide assurance to the Trust, meeting its auditing responsibilities, in line with the National Standards for Healthcare Cleanliness 2025 regulations. This role is critical to supporting infection control across the organisation as well as influencing quality improvement.
The post holder will be expected to work closely with the organisations IPC and Clinical teams and demonstrate a flexible attitude to their work. Excellent communication and computer skills are necessary, and the successful candidate must be able to work across site as required.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will oversee the operational elements of stakeholder management and may include conducting complex audits assignment. Responsible for quality assurance of audits undertaken on the Trust preferred audit system, ensuring quality of audit reporting.
Supervise their direct reports to deliver audit plans on time and to quality standards across site. The Audit Manager will report regularly across the stakeholder groups. The Audit manager is expected to establish credibility across the services, by responding professionally in a timely manner, to queries from stakeholder groups.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Ensure the Trust remains compliant, with its unbiased monitoring obligations, relating to the NSHC 2025, through a structured auditing and reporting process.
Overseeing audit teams internal operating processes and practices.
Recommend changes and enhancements to existing polices and controls, to ensure they are adequate, functional and in accordance with statutory compliance.
Identify the business process risks, assess the methodologies in place and evaluate the controls.
Develop recommendations and reports based on audit outcomes, and present ideas to senior management whilst maintaining integrity and transparency within the organisation.
Understand audit frameworks, tools, processes, risk categorisation's and scoring.
Lead and manage the audit team, allocate resource in accordance with audit schedules. Trust values

Essential criteria
1. Hold a Diploma or other equivalent higher education certificate in Management and Leadership, such as HND / Foundation degree / DipHE / NVQ level 5 or higher apprenticeship Level 5.
2. Demonstrate considerable experience in audit management.
