Technical Network / Solutions Architect
Location: Corsham - Hybrid
Salary: £65,000 - £75,000 depending on experience plus an excellent benefits package, plus a Tax Free Yearly Bonus
Due to the nature of the work you will be involves you in you must hold a DV Clearance.
NexGen Associates are currently working with an established IT Consultancy client who work within the government and defence verticals. They are now looking to take on an experienced Technical / Solutions Architect to support the Technical Architectural systems developed with their customers. You will be joining an existing architecture team, working on innovation projects across the defence and public sector domains.
You will leverage your technical expertise, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure alignment with project goals to establish a high-performing and future-ready IT environment. Your technical acumen and strategic vision will be key to achieving success.
Duties:
* Design and implement secure system architectures tailored for the MoD.
* Oversee the full project lifecycle, including requirement capture, architecture design, implementation and live service delivery.
* Facilitate workshops with users and business leaders to ensure secure solutions align with both technical and operational needs.
* Act as a trusted advisor while providing technical leadership throughout the project.
* Lead the selection of methodologies and technologies, ensuring cost-effective and fit-for-purpose solutions for operational environments.
* Drive successful delivery and deployment of projects into live environments, ensuring operational readiness.
* Identify and pursue new business opportunities, supporting bids, tenders and business development activities.
* Champion digital transformation initiatives to modernise Defence operations and workflows.
* Develop and implement policies, standards and guidelines that align with the needs of the Defence enterprise.
Requirements for the role:
* Proven experience in a Technical / Solutions Architect role within the Defence sector..
* Broad technical expertise spanning Infrastructure, Networks, Cyber Security and Information Assurance.
* Deep understanding of MOD operations, architecture, and challenges, including multi-site environments and remote locations with limited or no internet access.
* Strong background in gathering and managing requirements throughout the architectural development process.
* Chartered Engineer status (or a desire to work towards achieving it).
* Expertise in security requirements across Network, Cloud, and Infrastructure architectures, including PKI, Cryptography, and other security domains.
* Ability to contribute to business development efforts, including bids and tenders.
