We are offering an exceptional opportunity for a skilled Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a specialist interest in Foot and Ankle to join a respected and high‑performing surgical centre in Somerset. This modern, purpose‑built facility is known for its clinical excellence, low infection rates, and outstanding patient satisfaction.
In this role you will focus on planned surgical care without the demands of trauma rotas or acute emergency admissions. You will be supported by a forward‑thinking, multidisciplinary team and will have the opportunity to shape and develop clinical services.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead on the delivery of Foot and Ankle orthopaedic procedures, including elective reconstructions, arthroscopies, and forefoot and hindfoot surgery.
* Deliver full‑cycle care: pre‑operative assessments, intra‑operative care, and post‑operative follow‑up.
* Maintain the highest standards of clinical safety and effectiveness.
* Collaborate across disciplines to improve pathways and patient outcomes.
* Participate in audit, service development, teaching, and research.
* Support appraisal, revalidation, and junior doctor development.
* Contribute to an on‑call rota (with primary cover provided by RMOs).
About You
* Full GMC Specialist Registration in Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgery.
