Role Overview
Vehicle Technician / Mechanic at Lookers Motor Group Limited – Lookers South Shields Ford workshop. Full‑time, permanent position. Salary OTE up to £48,200 (uncapped), basic £31,000‑£38,000 plus bonuses. 40 hours Monday‑Friday 8:30‑17:00, plus one Saturday 8:30‑12:30. You will perform vehicle health checks, services, repairs using latest technology and support customers.
Responsibilities
* Carrying out vehicle health checks using the latest technology
* Conducting vehicle service in accordance with manufacturers guidelines and customer requests
* Carrying out any additional repairs once authorised by the customer
* Warranty repairs per the manufacturer’s guidelines, with complete write‑up
* Taking the customer’s vehicle out on a road test to ensure faults are rectified
* Complete all relevant paperwork to a high standard
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have minimum NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or equivalent, motor industry experience (brand or non‑brand), and a full and valid UK driving licence. Self‑motivated, team‑supportive, ambitious, eager to learn, and able to maintain high standards. Brand accreditation training will be provided. Diagnostic, MOT and EV experience is desirable.
