About this opportunity
As a Revenues Officer within the Revenues & Benefits Team, you will undertake a range of duties in relation to maximising collection and establishing liability for council tax and non-domestic rates, including deciding new and amended liabilities, discounts and exemptions, write offs and refunds, including managing domestic and commercial property inspections and reviews, assisting with billing, recovery and enforcement of outstanding debts and recovery processes and contribute to reconciliation of financial controls. You will need to put our Customers at the heart of everything that you do, and provide advice and assistance to customers in person, by telephone or other communication channels. You will also be responsible for the investigation and resolution of exceptions identified through the Capita system. You will be required to develop and maintain accurate and up to date records, and be fully proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software and Excel, and take responsibility for all aspects of administrative support for the service.
This role provides a real opportunity to play a pivotal role in the Revenues and Benefits Service, with the scope to contribute towards the implementation and delivery of the future transformation of the service.
