Role Responsibilities:
We are looking for Mechanical Design Engineers (there are several positions available as we are in a growth phase) to work as part of a multi disciplined team of 30 engineers designing new products within the cash security industry.
Your role will involve designing and developing products from concept through to production. You will be able to provide novel, practical and innovative solutions to mechanical design problems, before prototyping, testing and bringing your solution through to production.
You must have an eye for detail, an inquisitive mind, be initiative‑taking and be self‑motivated. The ability to critique one's own design will be immensely beneficial to achieve the best result.
Collaborating with other engineering disciplines, departments and suppliers will be required, so good communication skills, both written and verbally are a must.
Your role will include the research of new materials, technologies and processes to solve challenging design problems.
The following tasks and activities form the primary duties of the role:
* Creating concept designs from customer requirements.
* Design products where components use manufacturing techniques, such as:
* Plastic injection moulding
* CNC machining (plastics and metals)
* Sheetmetal
* Extrusions (aluminium and plastics)
* Build Prototypes and evaluate.
* Liaise with suppliers about optimising design for manufacture and create product costings and B.O.M.s
* Drafting of drawings and associated documentation.
* Write engineering change notes to release products to production.
This role requires the ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence and fluency in English.
Please note, the successful candidate will be required to prove they have full right to work in the UK. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer sponsorships at this time. The successful candidate will also be subject to stringent vetting and referencing checks prior to commencing employment.
