As our Building division continues to expand, the Planning Team have an opportunity for a Graduate Apprentice to join our team in Livingston.\n\nIf you enjoy computers, design, and figuring out how things are built, this is your chance to shape the future of the world around you.\n\nNo experience in planning software is needed; weâll teach you everything you need to thrive.\n\nYouâll be building the foundations of a rewarding career through a fully funded, industry-recognised apprenticeship.\n\nIf youâre passionate about Construction and the Built Environment and have an eye for detail, this is your chance to build a career with purpose. \n \n- Support the Planning team in the analysis of tender information and preparation of tender programmes\n\n- Support the Planning team in the preparation of master programmes\n\n- Analyse and support the Planning team in labour resource and plant\n\n- Support the Planning team in assessing / evaluate construction methods and techniques\n\n- Support the Planning team in the preparation of prelims\n\n- Support the Planning team in preparation procurement and information schedules\n\n- Support the Planning team in assessing project progress positions including monitoring of specific \nsub-contract packages\n\n- Support Planning Team in Client Meetings\n\n- Support Planning Team in Collaborative Sub Contractor Workshops\n\n- Support and co-ordinate the distribution of programmes\n\n- Support the smooth running of planning department\n\n- Support the Planning team in assessing project progress positions and maintains production control records. As a Trainee Planner you will;\n\n- Be part of a planning team that plays a vital role in shaping the built environment, helping to plan and coordinate how complex construction projects are delivered.\n- Gain practical, hands-on experience, build valuable technical and problem-solving skills, and see first-hand how complex ideas on paper are turned into meaningful places that serve communities.\n- Step into the world of major construction projects and learn how to bring them to life using the latest digital tools. From planning how buildings are put together to solving problems before they arise, helping to create the strategy that keeps construction projects on track. About You\nTechnical Competencies\n\nEssential\n\nCurrently studying, or planning to undertake, a degree-level course in a construction-related discipline and can meet or have already met the academic requirements of local training provider\nStrong interest in technology, engineering and the built environment.\n Strong IT skills and confidence working with common Microsoft packages.\nLogical thinking and problem-solving ability.\nGood attention to detail and accuracy.\nInterest in technology, design, or strategy (e.g. ICT, CAD).\nStrong communication and teamwork skills.\nAbility to manage time, stay organised, and meet deadlines.\nWillingness to learn and apply new tools and techniques.\n\nDesirable\n\nExperience in a construction related environment\nInterest in how construction, engineering, or design processes come together.\nBasic knowledge of project management concepts (e.g. timelines, milestones).\nAbility to read drawings and visual information\nUnderstanding of 3D modelling, design software, or gaming engines (helpful but not essential).\nCreative thinking and ability to visualise how projects fit together\nCSCS card\n\nBehavioural Competencies\n\nEssential\n\nCommercial Awareness â Demonstrates an interest in how the business operates and how their role contributes to meeting customer needs and GRAHAM business requirements. Shows curiosity and willingness to learn about the industry.\n\nLeadership Skills â Communicates effectively and contributes to team activities.
