1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant

About the Role
We are seeking a confident and nurturing Teaching Assistant to support a child aged 5+ on a 1:1 basis within a primary school setting. This rewarding role focuses on building trust, supporting emotional regulation, and helping the child to engage with learning in a structured and positive way.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
* Providing consistent 1:1 support tailored to a child with behavioural needs, ADHD and/or Autism
* Assisting with social communication, emotional regulation and classroom routines
* Using de-escalation techniques and supporting positive behaviour strategies
* Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals to deliver personalised learning and behaviour plans
* Encouraging independence, confidence and a positive attitude to school life
What We’re Looking For
* Proven experience working 1:1 with children who have SEMH needs, ADHD or are on the Autism Spectrum (ages 5+)
* Strong understanding of behaviour support strategies and personalised interventions
* Calm, patient and proactive approach with excellent communication skills
* Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with children, staff, and families
* Relevant qualifications or training in SEN, behaviour management, or mental health (desirable)
