Senior Paediatric Occupational Therapist

Salary - £42,708 - £47,754 pro rata (Grade 7)

Hours – 37 and 18.5 hours per week

Contract type – full time/part time, permanent post

Work Style -Field: working in communities across the city

Empowering Children and Families Through Specialist Occupational Therapy

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Senior Paediatric Occupational Therapist to join our Children’s Social Care team.This is a key role supporting children and young people with complex physical, sensory, and developmental needs to thrive at home, in school, and in the community.

About the Role

As a Senior Paediatric Occupational Therapist, you will:

* Lead on complex assessments and interventions for children with a wide range of needs
* Provide expert advice on housing adaptations, specialist equipment, and sensory strategies
* Work closely with families, schools, health professionals, and social workers to deliver coordinated,child-centred care
* Supervise andsupport junior OTs, students, and therapy assistants
* Contribute to service development, policy implementation, and quality assurance
* Support transitions into adulthood and ensure continuity of care

What We’re Looking For

* HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist with significant paediatric experience
* Strong clinical reasoning and leadership skills
* Experience working in children’s social care, education, or community settings
* Excellent communication and multi-agency working skills
* Experience supervising staff or students
* A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle

Our working arrangements

All council roles are allocated to either a fixed, field or flexible work style.Some roles are agile which enable and empower employees to maximise their performance and productivity, whilst maintaining a healthy work life balance. Roles with a fixed workstyle work in a fixed permanent council location. Roles with a field workstyle are usually allocated where employees are required to be out working in the community with a minimum requirement for 'touch down' space at any council location. Roles with a flexible workstyle have a flexible base location to meet the needs of the business and employees can work from a mixture of home or any council office, partner/client, or external location, as required to meet service requirements.
