Location: Southeast London depot
Duration: Long term contract
Pay:
• Day shifts: £21.65 per hour PAYE (plus holiday pay) or £28.46 per hour Umbrella rate
• Night shifts: £24.78 per hour PAYE (plus holiday pay) or £32.64 per hour Umbrella rate
• Various shifts available including day, night, and occasional weekends

Summary
We are seeking an experienced Vehicle Sprayer / Paint Technician to join a train company’s refresh campaign, primarily focusing on aesthetic painting work on the exterior of train carriages. The role involves preparing and applying paint finishes to rolling stock, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety and environmental standards. Candidates should have a proven background in vehicle painting, with previous roles such as Vehicle Sprayer, Paint Technician, Automotive Refinisher, or Bodyshop Worker. A good mechanical understanding and experience working within a vehicle environment would be advantageous. The position requires flexibility to work across various shifts, including nights and occasional weekends.

Key Responsibilities
• Prepare surfaces and apply paint coatings to the exterior of train carriages as part of refurbishment and refresh projects
• Carry out aesthetic repairs and finishing work to a high standard
• Follow health and safety procedures, including the correct use of PPE and COSHH regulations
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition
• Accurately complete records of work carried out
• Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and quality standards

Skills
• Proven experience in vehicle painting or refinishing (e.g., Vehicle Sprayer, Paint Technician, Automotive Refinisher)
• Knowledge of paint application techniques and surface preparation
• Understanding of mechanical aspects related to vehicle environments (desirable)
• Ability to work flexibly across day, night, and weekend shifts
• Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Awareness of health and safety regulations including COSHH
• Ability to maintain accurate work records
• Experience working in a production or workshop environment
• Reliability and punctuality
