Responsibilities
This is a rare yet exciting opportunity to shape how a large, complex organisation adopts and uses AI in practice. AI is rapidly becoming a core enabler of productivity, service quality, decision-making and innovation. Demand for AI-enabled solutions is already growing across the organisation however, this demand is currently fragmented, opportunistic and often solution-focused rather than centred on clearly defined business problems. This creates risks relating to duplication, data ethics, security, value for money and alignment to corporate priorities.
Join us to play a pivotal role in building a joined-up, responsible and value-driven approach to AI. A high-impact role with genuine influence, you’ll be critical in enabling the organisation to realise the full value of artificial intelligence and automation. You’ll establish the product management capability required to move to a coherent, strategic and sustainable AI delivery programme.
Working in close partnership with services, DDaT, data, security and external suppliers, you’ll act as the bridge between business need and technology delivery—ensuring AI initiatives are well governed and aligned to organisational objectives. You’ll be central to shaping how AI is used to improve services, drive efficiency and deliver better outcomes for residents and businesses. We are recruiting to two positions to ensure the complexity and pace of AI demand is met successfully. Each position will be aligned to distinct service areas to enable the organisation to adopt AI in a strategic, controlled and scalable way, and define moving from experimentation to real, measurable impact.
A confident and credible practitioner, you’ll be able to build trust with a wide range of stakeholders and operate effectively within complex organisational structures. You’ll be comfortable working in ambiguity and capable of bringing structure and clarity to emerging priorities. Building strong relationships, you’ll be able to provide dedicated support to individual services, ensuring their specific business challenges and opportunities are fully understood. Demonstrating a strong focus on outcomes, you’ll be able to guide conversations towards a clear understanding of underlying business problems and user needs to be able to effectively develop tailored, meaningful AI strategies. Whilst you do not need to be a technical specialist in AI, you’ll be expected to lead through collaboration and draw on the expertise of DDaT technical teams where required.
If you are skilled at working with people, navigating complex service environments, and translating business challenges into clear, actionable opportunities then we would love to hear from you!
