Your Main Responsibilities
As a Service Technician based at the Warrington office you will support North Wales and the Chester area. Your key duties include: executing planned preventive maintenance, conducting safety inspections, managing non‑conformities, reducing lift downtime, performing minor repairs, and lifecycle replacement of components. You will also adhere to all safety and conduct procedures, be available on an on‑call rota for out‑of‑hours work, and ensure compliance with UK legal requirements and Schindler Group safety standards.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Carry out routine servicing of lift and escalator equipment, including minor repairs and component replacement in accordance with approved procedures.
* Identify and correct faults during breakdowns, ensuring correct functioning of the equipment.
* Perform functional checks (speed, motor operation, weight, noise, temperature, power supply) using approved tooling and PPE.
* Inspect and adjust lift or escalator systems as per company procedures.
* Document service activities and reinstate equipment to service.
* Apply advanced fault‑finding and diagnostic techniques using technical manuals, test equipment, and written or graphical information.
* Conduct site surveys and attend relevant training to maintain technical knowledge.
* Follow safety and environmental policies, model safe behaviour, and contribute to safety objectives by monitoring and improving current safety systems.
Qualifications & Experience
* Experience in lift/escalator servicing, maintenance or repairs preferred.
* NVQ level 3 or equivalent qualification in lift/escalator maintenance.
* Willingness to work towardsindler Certification Level 3 Red.
* Advanced electrical and mechanical knowledge of multi‑brand equipment.
* Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work under pressure and within deadlines.
* Independent, flexible approach with excellent manual dexterity for repetitive lifting and tool use.
* Proven fault‑finding and diagnostic skills.
* Good administrative skills and punctuality.
* Full UK driving licence.
