Chief Commercial Officer - Renewable Energy, BESS & Data Centre Infrastructure Platform
Lep29 are appointing a high level role within Renewable Energy, Energy Storage, Digital Infrastructure and Data Centres and infrastructure investment platform is seeking an exceptional CCO to help lead the next phase of expansion across international energy transition, data centre, and infrastructure markets.
This is a rare opportunity for a commercially minded senior legal and transactions leader to move fully in-house and play a strategic role in building and scaling an international startup platform backed by institutional capital and investment funds.
The successful candidate will bring a combination of Magic Circle or top tier international law firm experience, deep commercial acumen, and an outstanding track record advising and executing complex cross-border infrastructure and energy transactions.
You will work directly with founders, investors, and executive leadership to structure, negotiate, and deliver sophisticated platform investments, joint ventures, and international fund structures across renewables, energy infrastructure, and digital infrastructure assets.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead commercial strategy and transaction execution across renewable energy, infrastructure, and data centre investments.
* Structure and negotiate complex cross-border transactions, joint ventures, and investment platforms.
* Support the creation and scaling of new infrastructure and IPP platforms internationally.
* Partner with institutional investors, infrastructure funds, and strategic partners on acquisitions, developments, and portfolio transactions.
* Lead negotiations on major commercial agreements, shareholder arrangements, development partnerships, and strategic investments.
* Drive platform structuring and investment management initiatives across multiple jurisdictions.
* Manage relationships with external counsel, advisors, tax specialists, and financial stakeholders globally.
* Provide commercially focused legal and strategic guidance to executive leadership and investment teams.
* Support capital deployment strategies, fundraising initiatives, and portfolio growth.
* Operate as a senior strategic adviser across all commercial and corporate activities of the business.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for an elite transactional professional with a strong blend of legal pedigree, commercial leadership, and entrepreneurial mindset.
Ideal Background
* Qualified corporate lawyer from a Magic Circle or internationally recognised law firm.
* Significant experience advising on:
* Large scale infrastructure and energy transactions
* Renewable energy platforms
* Data centre or digital infrastructure investments
* Cross-border fund structuring
* Joint ventures and strategic partnerships
* Investment management structures
* Proven ability to lead and negotiate complex international transactions.
* Experience working with infrastructure funds, investment platforms, or institutional capital.
* Strong commercial judgement with the ability to balance legal, financial, and strategic considerations.
* Exposure to platform creation, early-stage growth environments, or scaling businesses is highly advantageous.
* Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management and negotiation capabilities.
* Entrepreneurial, commercially driven, and comfortable operating in a fast-moving investment environment.
