About the Role
A Lead Content Designer is an expert practitioner responsible for setting standards, mentoring colleagues, and leading content design and user-centered design (UCD) approaches across multiple teams or complex services. They work autonomously, influence stakeholders, and ensure high-quality, user-focused content that aligns with client objectives and meets accessibility standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the overall UCD approach within your service team.
* Ensure the quality of content delivery and set Made Tech’s design standards.
* Produce high-quality, user-focused content.
* Facilitate shared understanding of problems and testing ideas within teams.
* Ensure services are accessible to all users.
* Meet the government Service Standard through content and design best practices.
* Demonstrate good content sharing and improvement habits.
* Manage content across multiple channels and oversee its effectiveness.
* Build client relationships and understand their needs.
* Support business development through UCD expertise in bids.
* Identify skill gaps and support team development.
* Lead or support hiring and onboarding of designers.
* Promote a healthy, supportive community of practice.
* Represent content design internally and publicly.
