My client are seeking an experienced and motivated Sustainability Lead to join our team on a flagship construction project based in High Wycombe. Key Responsibilities
As Sustainability Lead, you will play a central role in shaping and implementing the project’s sustainability strategy. Your responsibilities will include:
* Developing and delivering the project-wide Sustainability and Environmental Management Plan
* Ensuring compliance with environmental legislation, client targets, and relevant certifications (e.g., BREEAM, CEEQUAL, PAS 2080)
* Supporting the design, engineering, and construction teams to embed sustainability principles from concept through to delivery
* Monitoring carbon, waste, water, and energy performance, and driving continuous improvement
* Leading sustainability reporting and presenting progress to senior stakeholders
* Coordinating environmental risk assessments and site audits
* Engaging supply chain partners to promote responsible sourcing and ethical practices
* Developing community, biodiversity, and social value initiatives aligned with project goals
* Acting as a visible champion for sustainability across the project site
About You
We’re looking for someone who brings:
* Proven experience in sustainability management within the construction or infrastructure sector
* Strong understanding of UK environmental regulations and industry best practice
* Experience with certification schemes (e.g., BREEAM, CEEQUAL) and carbon management frameworks
* Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage at all levels
* A proactive mindset and passion for driving cultural change
* Relevant qualifications (e.g., Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering) or equivalent experience
