What difference will you make?
As part of our board, you will support and shape the strategic direction of Endometriosis South Coast and help us amplify our voice across the region and beyond. Our mission is to provide support, education, and advocacy for people living with endometriosis and associated conditions, many of whom have been historically overlooked, misdiagnosed, or excluded from mainstream healthcare narratives. This is a vital role that will allow us to better reach the communities who need us most, from young people struggling in silence at school, to adults navigating complex healthcare systems, to marginalised groups who often face additional barriers to diagnosis and care. Your marketing expertise will help us to Raise awareness of endometriosis as a full-body, systemic condition Grow our supporter base and improve public understanding Engage with professionals in health and education through clear and effective communication Increase visibility for our services, events, and campaigns Attract funders and partners who align with our values By helping shape our messaging, branding, and outreach strategy, you will ensure that our work is seen, heard, and understood. You’ll also help us safeguard the integrity of how we present lived experiences, making sure our voice is authentic, inclusive, and empowering. What are we looking for?
We are looking for a Marketing Specialist Trustee who can bring strategic insight, creativity, and a passion for meaningful communication to help Endometriosis South Coast grow its reach and impact. You should be confident offering your expertise at a strategic level. Skills and experience We are looking for someone with knowledge or experience in one or more of the following areas Marketing strategy and campaign planning Branding and messaging development Digital marketing, including social media platforms and trends Audience growth, engagement analytics, or performance tracking Communications within health, education, or social justice sectors (desirable but not essential) Qualities A genuine interest in health equity and the lived experience of people with chronic and invisible conditions The ability to think both strategically and creatively A collaborative, team-player mindset with the confidence to contribute your ideas and challenge constructively An understanding of inclusive and ethical communication, especially around health, gender, and marginalised communities A willingness to learn about endometriosis and the wider impact it has on people's lives We’re especially interested in hearing from people with Lived experience of endometriosis or another long-term health condition A member of a marginalised community, including disabled people, LGBTQIA+ people, or people from ethnic minority backgrounds An interest in helping small charities grow their voice and visibility in a crowded digital space Most of all, we’re looking for someone who shares our values of compassion, inclusion, honesty, and empowerment, and wants to use their skills to make a tangible difference for people affected by an often misunderstood condition.
What will you be doing?
Led by lived experience, we are a small but ambitious organisation expanding our reach across the South Coast and beyond. We are seeking a dedicated Marketing Specialist Trustee to join our board at a pivotal time. Over the past year, we’ve grown through public campaigns and a stronger social media presence. To ensure our message reaches those who need us most — particularly underserved or marginalised communities — we now need strategic and consistent marketing expertise at board level. Our current board challenges and goals Raising awareness of endometriosis as a full-body, systemic condition Building consistent, engaging campaigns across multiple platforms Developing ethical communications that centre lived experience without tokenism Attracting supporters, funders, and collaborators through impactful storytelling Strengthening our voice in healthcare, education, and policy spaces Your role As our Marketing Specialist Trustee, you will work closely with the founder, volunteers, and fellow trustees to guide the strategic direction of our marketing and communications. This includes shaping long-term campaigns, improving our digital strategy, measuring impact, and refining how we tell our story to resonate with diverse audiences — including funders, professionals, and the communities we serve. This is a strategic and hands-on role where your insight can directly influence how we communicate our mission, values, and impact. You’ll help us explore key questions, such as How can we speak authentically to a diverse community, including trans and non-binary people? How can social media support both advocacy and fundraising? What branding approaches will help us stand out in a crowded sector? Who we’re looking for You likely have experience in marketing, branding, digital strategy, or communications — from the charity sector, private sector, or freelance work. Experience in health, education, or social justice campaigning is a plus. We especially welcome applications from people with lived experience of endometriosis or chronic/invisible illness, and from communities underrepresented in charity leadership, including disabled people, LGBTQIA+ people, and people of colour. Use your marketing skills to create lasting change for people affected by an often misunderstood and under-recognised condition.
