Overview
Victim RJ (Restorative Justice Worker) to work within the Youth Justice Service ensuring that victims receive the rights that they are entitled to under the victim code.
Responsibilities
* You will be allocated a cohort of victims, who have been harmed by children open to the YJS. It will be your role to make direct contact, listen to and ensure that the victims voice is heard in various forums, assessments and reports.
* You will offer the victims a menu of options which could include a direct meeting with the person who has harmed them, allowing for any questions to be answered and mediation to take place.
* The post is categorised as Hybrid post which means staff are able to work from a number of office locations and from home at times.
* Risk management, public safety and safeguarding are fundamental to our work and candidates need to be able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of these requirements as they are integral to the post being offered.
* The postholder will require high emotional intelligence, excellent communication and IT skills, utilising a relationship-based practice model, and some understanding of the Victims Code of Practice (though training will be given).
* We would welcome applications from those with lived experiences, who may have a knowledge of victim and mediation work.
* As this post is within an organisation which works across Cheshire East, Cheshire West, Halton and Warrington, the post holder may be required to work across any of these local authority areas.

Qualifications / Requirements
* Grade 7 (£31,537 - £34,434)
* Thorough understanding of risk management, public safety and safeguarding.
* High emotional intelligence, excellent communication and IT skills, utilising a relationship-based practice model.
* Some understanding of the Victims Code of Practice (training will be given).
* Welcomes applications from those with lived experiences, who may have knowledge of victim and mediation work.
* DBS clearance will be required.
* Post may involve travel across Cheshire East, Cheshire West, Halton and Warrington.
