Partner - Crime & Regulatory Lead - Influence - Shape the Future
Location: Manchester. Salary: Competitive Partner package + bonus + great benefits package.
Key Responsibilities
* Take ownership of a varied and stimulating caseload across:
o Inquests & public inquiries
o Professional discipline & misconduct investigations (including policing)
o Health & safety, licensing, environmental and regulatory matters
o Entity regulation (CQC, Ofsted)
o Criminal regulatory defence and business crime
* Lead a high performing team while driving strategy, direction and growth.
* Co develop the Manchester Crime & Regulatory team with the Head of Department.
* Shape performance, culture and profitability.
* Strengthen and grow relationships with internal partners, insurers, brokers and corporate stakeholders.
* Play a key role in business development, brand building and practice expansion.
* Mentor and develop junior team members.
* Oversee governance, compliance, supplier relationships and quality assurance.
Leadership Impact & Strategy
* Act as a senior strategic driver, balancing quality with profitability and strategic growth.
* Provide autonomy to innovate and grow the practice while raising national profile.
* Collaborate with senior leadership to align vision and objectives.
Qualifications
* Senior Crime or Regulatory lawyer with strong technical depth in at least two core areas (e.g., inquests, H&S, professional discipline, environmental regulation, licensing, or business crime).
* Experience managing insurer and legal expense insurance relationships or strong familiarity with referral based practice.
* Proven track record of client management, business development and team leadership.
* Commercial instinct - ability to balance quality with profitability and strategic growth.
* Excellent communication skills, calm under pressure and commitment to exceptional client care.
* Existing Partner preferred; Legal Director/Senior Associate ready for the step up welcome.
