SCUK Capital Analyst Country: United Kingdom Santander Consumer Finance UK (SCUK) is based in Redhill, Surrey and provides motor finance to a network of car dealerships throughout the United Kingdom. We are now looking for a Capital Analyst to join the finance team to provide support to Head of Capital on the capital calculation and reporting as well as preparing all the company/portfolio’s information needed for new projects in relation to capital saving. Please note this role is a hybrid role with at least 3 days a week in the Redhill office. Remote workers will not be considered. Responsibilities will include: Support the Head of Capital to ensure that the established month-end calendar is achieved Responsible to calculate and submit the exposure at default for any Asset not allocated to an individual contract. This input requires to gather, validate, and analyse large datasets related to credit portfolios (PCP, CH, CS, Credit facility…) as well as read accounting financial statements (Balance Sheet) Responsible for spotting and manage any potential errors raised during the BDR month end process Responsible of BDR’s parametrization. Models input will be provided by Methodology, but it needs an understanding of the business operations to translate these Models’ metrics into the BDR parametrization The Analyst will be responsible to perform monthly a variance analysis vs previous month and budget BDR perform Economic Stress Test on a quarterly basis Modification of BDR’s queries when needed Backup for the other member of the Capital team as/when necessary Ensure key communication with the team members is promoted for best practice across the team Undertake effective ongoing documentation updates and reviews of inputs/report production process to ensure procedures are up to date and accurate so backups’ errors are reduced Support on the correct implementation of any required amendments on the BDR tool to ensure a continue correct integration of Capital Requirements Regulation (CRR) Prepare and submit accurate and timely regulatory returns to the PRA and FCA, including COREP (Pilar 1 CRR) and ICAAP (Pilar 2 CRR) Liaising with the necessary areas across the business to ensure accurate depiction and assumptions are used in the analysis Monitor and interpret evolving regulatory standards (e.g., Basel 3.1) and assess their potential impact on the company's capital position Budget and MTP - Work alongside Risk and Financial Control to p rovide the estimations of Capital parameters for the required period Support Joint Venture partners in their regulatory requirements as and when required. Oversee their capital initiatives and understand impact on SCUK’s position Monthly update of Capital Forum presentation SCUK’s documentation hub for Capital policies and procedures. Ensuring data and documentation is both accurate and easily accessible for audit and governance needs Adhering to our commitment to Consumer Duty ensuring we put our customers’ needs first and set higher and clearer standards of consumer protection What we’re looking for: Demonstrable experience in the financial services sector – awareness and understanding of market forces and their impact prices, rates and key financial indicators Previous experience in Consumer (SCUK or JVs) - Familiarity with financial software (Power BI, Dun & Bradsheet), company’s policies, governance and reporting platforms (MIS, Dashboard) Broad understanding of business operations and our customer’s portfolio Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including financial modelling, pivot tables, and data manipulation Experience with SQL or other database query tools Coding of queries (SAS, Phyton, Power BI…) Proven experience on financial analysis and interpretation of financial statements Certain understanding of Risk Management (Credit Risk, Market Risk, Operational Risk) A solid understanding of the UK's financial services regulatory environment (PRA, FCA, BoE, ECB) and prudential frameworks (COREP, ICAAP, Volcker, IFRS, Basel, CRR…) Analytical ability: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and numerical skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail We have a range of benefits available which include: Competitive salary of £40 - 50,000 dependant on experience 27 days holiday per annum, plus bank holidays Annual bonus based on personal and company performance £500 flexible benefit allowance Generous pension contributions Employee assistance programme Sharesave scheme Gym passes at a reduced rate for 3,000 gyms, leisure centres etc Inclusion At Santander we’re creating a thriving workplace where all colleagues feel they belong and are supported to succeed.
