About the Role:
one of our local government clients are seeking a proactive and customer-focused Housing Assistant to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the delivery of essential housing services, supporting local residents through efficient administrative, clerical, and reception duties.
You will be a key point of contact for customers, providing advice, processing applications, and supporting tenancy-related procedures. This is an office-based role, ideal for individuals with experience in housing, customer service, or administrative roles within the public sector.
Key Responsibilities:

Process tenancy terminations and manage keys from outgoing tenants
*
Register, assess, and maintain Housing Register applications
*
Support annual Housing Register reviews and handle changes of circumstances
*
Provide first-point housing advice and signposting services
*
Assist with reception duties and respond to telephone and in-person enquiries
*
Manage garage applications and maintain accurate data entry across systems
Requirements:
*
Previous experience in a customer service, administrative, or housing support role
*
Strong communication and organisational skills
*
Comfortable working in a busy, office-based environment
*
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information professionally
*
Proficiency in using office systems and databases
