Overview
Receptionist/Administrator to support a Pain Management Clinic, ensuring smooth and efficient operation. First point of contact for patients and visitors, with responsibility for a range of administrative and reception duties.
Responsibilities
* Greet and check in patients for appointments and treatments
* Handle telephone and face-to-face queries with empathy and efficiency
* Book and manage new and follow-up appointments
* Communicate messages between patients and clinical staff
* Monitor and maintain department stock levels
* Support general administrative tasks to ensure smooth clinic operations
* Arrange admissions and provide accurate appointment/information details; book transport/interpreters where necessary
* Provide cover for Healthcare Assistants (HCAs) when needed under the direction of senior staff
What We're Looking For
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills
* Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure
* Experience in an NHS healthcare environment is essential
* Proactive and flexible approach to work
* Valid Care Certificate (essential)
Qualifications
* Minimum RSA II typing/word processing skills or equivalent
* GCSE Maths and English or equivalent
* Motivation to develop the role and themselves within the role
* Care Certificate
Knowledge and Experience
* Good keyboard skills; knowledge of medical terminology (preferably in pain)
* Excellent computer skills with Word and Excel
* Experience dealing with the public in a reception area; booking appointments
* Experience working with Electronic Patient Records (EPR)
* Desirable: previous NHS experience; experience managing a waiting list

Grade/Band: Band 3 | Salary: £24,937 to £26,598 per annum, pro rata | Contract: Permanent | Working pattern: Part-time
