Role: After School Club Teaching Assistant Location: Leasowe, Wirral Salary: £250-300 per week (depending on experience and qualifications) Working Hours: Monday–Friday (3:15pm – 6:15pm) To apply, you must show proof of right to work in the UK. About the Role Connex Education is working with a Primary School in Leasowe, Wirral, seeking a part-time Teaching Assistant to support in their after school club. You will be working with a variety of age groups from EYFS up to Year 6. To be successful in this role, you will have excellent team leading skills, be sociable and friendly, calm and nurturing and able to plan and deliver excellent provision suited to a range of ages and interests. It is essential that you have paediatric first aid training for this role. About the School This primary school is a welcoming, inclusive and community-focused setting where every child is known and valued. Staff work together to provide a supportive learning environment with high expectations, helping pupils develop confidence, resilience and a positive attitude towards learning. Assignment Details You would be working Monday – Friday, 5 days a week during after school hours (3:15pm – 6:15pm). There is some flexibility around start time if needed. Person Specification Qualifications A Level 2/3 teaching assistant qualification is desirable; however, those with relevant school experience will also be considered. Paediatric first aid trained. GCSE English & Maths (Grade C/4 or above for both) or equivalent Level 2. Current DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for a new one through Connex. Knowledge and skills Builds positive, supportive relationships with pupils and staff. Upholds high standards of professional behaviour, presentation, and integrity. Committed to maintaining consistency in learning and behaviour expectations. Open to professional development and constructive feedback. Demonstrates strong literacy, numeracy, and communication skills. Works collaboratively within classroom routines, showing initiative and professionalism. Adapts to pupils’ varying needs and supports inclusion. Demonstrates patience, empathy, and consistency when supporting pupils of varying needs and abilities. Reliable, well-presented, and committed to confidentiality and ongoing development. Sound understanding of classroom roles, routines, and expectations, and how to contribute effectively to these. Observant and reflective, able to recognise and respond to changes in behaviour or wellbeing. Awareness of safeguarding, confidentiality, and professional boundaries in a school setting. Committed to continuous personal development and open to feedback and training.
