Overview
Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust are currently recruiting for a Fixed Term Domestic Assistant based at Leigh Infirmary. Working Monday to Friday, 17.5 hours per week, 16:30 - 20:00.
This vacancy is open to all internal and external candidates. NHS Employees should ideally secure their manager’s agreement for a secondment arrangement prior to applying, as this will be a condition of any offer made.
This vacancy is advertised on a fixed term basis for 10 months to cover for maternity leave and will end 16.08.2026 or when the substantive post holder returns. Whilst this post is advertised on a fixed term / secondment basis there is the potential that this post may become permanent in the future.

Role purpose: The post holder is responsible for carrying out specific cleaning and other related duties, following set procedure and standards to provide and maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the hospital and designated wards or departments.
Responsibilities
* General cleaning.
* Isolation cleaning.
* High and low dusting.
* Wet and dry mopping.
* Clean toilets, baths and washbasins.
* Emptying clinical and general waste bins and placing bags in designated areas.
* Vacuum cleaning.
* Scrubbing and buffing floors with mechanical machine.
* Carpet shampooing.
* Using chemicals and cleaning equipment responsibly and within health and safety guidelines.
* Maintaining staff and public safety through appropriate use of warning signage whilst cleaning.
Training and development: Full training will be provided to the successful candidate.
