Maintenance Technician – Joiner

Location: Wakefield College, with regular working across our other sites at Castleford and Selby
Salary: £30,438 to £32,292 per annum
Hours: 37 hours per week
We have an exciting opportunity for a Joiner to join our Estates team at the Heart of Yorkshire Education Group!
We’re looking for someone to support the effective and efficient operation of the Estates department by delivering high quality joinery services across the Group.
You will:
1. Ensure safe, efficient and timely completion of repairs, installations and improvement works
2. Maintain accurate records where required
3. Complete job tickets electronically, reports and documentation accurately
4. Measure, fit, install and repair wooden and metal doors and frames
5. Replace and adjust door ironmongery including hinges, handles, closers and locks
6. Carry out fire door maintenance and checks.

You will have:
7. GCSEs in English and Maths A*-C/9-4 or equivalent
8. Proven experience in joinery/carpentry and door installation
9. Basic electrical knowledge
10. NVQ/City & Guilds in Carpentry and Joinery is desirable but not essential
11. Fire door inspection or installation knowledge/certification, and an ECS card (or relevant electrical/access control qualifications) are also desirable but not essential.
