This opportunity sits within a key European entity, supporting the group's German subsidiary, which plays an important role in its wider operations. The organisation offers a collaborative, cross-border environment where finance plays a critical role in enabling strategic decision-making and compliance excellence.The RoleThis interim role will take ownership of all German compliance and taxation requirements for the subsidiary, ensuring the business meets its statutory obligations accurately and on time. The role encompasses responsibility for a broad range of areas, including commercial and trade tax, VAT, withholding tax and double taxation matters, as well as the preparation of financial statements under German GAAP. You will also oversee tax audits, EU sales declarations (ZM), Intrastat reporting, and employer tax submissions. Acting as the primary point of contact with German tax authorities, you will manage external relationships and ensure the business remains fully compliant within the regulatory landscape. In addition, the role includes responsibility for managing the company's insurance portfolio and driving continuous improvement in processes, with a focus on leveraging NetSuite ERP to enhance data capture, reporting accuracy, and efficiency.The Candidate The successful candidate will bring strong, hands-on experience of German tax regulations and compliance, alongside proven expertise in preparing and reviewing accounts under German GAAP. You will be confident managing interactions with tax authorities and supporting audits, with a thorough and detail-oriented approach. Experience working within an international or group environment is important, as is the ability to operate effectively across multiple stakeholders. Familiarity with ERP systems, particularly NetSuite, and a track record of improving financial will be highly valued.
