Apprentice Podiatrist £22,677 - £26,457 Band 5 Annexe 21 apprentice salary + £4,870 HCAS Bromley Healthcare are looking for people interested in becoming a Podiatrist to begin the journey with us as a Podiatry Apprentice. Podiatrists are registered Allied Healthcare Professionals specialising in the lower limb (feet, ankles, legs). A Podiatrist's job is to work to protect people’s feet, providing preventative advice, care, assessment, diagnosis & treatment of a range of problems affecting the lower limb. You will need to meet the entry criteria for the University of East London -https://www.uel.ac.uk/study/apprenticeships/allied-health-apprenticeships This role is a 3 year course where you will complete 1 day a week learning with the University of East London, 1 day a week work based learning and 3 days a week working within our community Podiatry team embedding and using the skills you learn during the degree apprenticeship. The successful apprentice will join our progressive, innovative & successful team working across Bromley in clinics & people’s homes where needed. Main duties of the job
This is a developmental role, requiring completion of BSc (Hons) Podiatry Degree Apprenticeship over 3 years at University of East London.
The post holder will be employed by Bromley Healthcare while undertaking an approved apprenticeship programme leading to HCPC registration as a Podiatrist on successful completion.
The role combines:
* 80% work-based learning
* 20% protected off-the-job academic learning
Clinical duties will be determined in line with the level of training, competence and supervision, and will progress throughout the apprenticeship. At all times, the apprentice will work under the supervision of a registered Podiatrist and will not practise autonomously. The apprentice may rotate across appropriate clinical services to meet learning outcomes required by the university and professional bodies.
As a Podiatry Apprentice you will be based as an employee within Bromley Healthcare working across teams. This will enable you to gain a wide appreciation of many health and care contexts, which will enable you to fulfil all the requirements of the BSc (Hons) Podiatry Programme.

Job responsibilities
Main Responsibilities of the role are:
To attend University and clinical placements as set out in the degree programme.
To complete and pass academic modules and clinical placements to the required standard in order to progress through the programme.
To ensure timely achievement in accordance with the academic programme requirements.
To complete and pass the End Point Assessment.
To organise and manage a clinical caseload, mapped against evolving capability, which will include gaining knowledge and experience of providing Podiatry care for patients with a variety of conditions including orthopaedic, rheumatological, musculoskeletal and neurological problems to name a few.
To gain knowledge and skills (analytical and reasoning) to assess diagnose, develop and implement individualised interventions for patients with a wide variety of clinical needs.
To empower the patient and others to participate in the patient’s self‑care and aim to enhance person‑centred care.
To gain experience during the period of the apprenticeship in a wide range of clinical areas.
To work from multiple bases across the borough of Bromley and the expectation to see patients across the borough as the service and demand requires.
The apprentice must not undertake unsupervised podiatry practice.
Practice must remain within the apprentice’s level of competence and training.
The post holder is not professionally registered until programme completion and HCPC registration has been obtained.
