Senior Lecturer Crime Scene Investigation

Forensic Science sits within the Applied Sciences team in the Faculty of Computing, Engineering and Science, a vibrant and interdisciplinary environment at the University of South Wales.

Deliver and shape vocational forensic and criminal justice training, the broad USW forensic academic portfolio, bridging operational practice with academic excellence.
You will contribute to a growing portfolio of commercial training, academic courses, research, and innovation aligned to real‑world forensic challenges.
Based in the Upper Glyntaff Campus in Pontypridd, the postholder will provide academic leadership and professional expertise in Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) as well as wider forensic science provision, supporting the development, delivery, and future expansion of the Crime Scene Village and expanding the forensic and applied science academic portfolio.
This role is designed to bridge operational forensic practice and academic provision, ensuring that teaching, training, and research are aligned with sector needs and institutional strategy. The postholder will play a central role in:
* Delivering immersive, practice‑based forensic education
* Designing and leading vocational CPD (including stage 1-4 CSI)
* Supporting and enhancing the USW forensic science academic and commercial portfolio
* Contributing to research, innovation, and external engagement
* Advancing the ambitions of USW 2030, particularly in experiential learning, employability, and industry collaboration
The role requires a highly experienced Crime Scene Coordinator (CSC) or equivalent practitioner capable of operating at the interface of education, and professional practice and future research.
