An exciting opportunity has arisen for two Trainee Enforcement Agents within the Recovery Department.
The successful candidate must be willing to study and work towards obtaining a Level 2 qualification in Taking Control of Goods which is a requirement of the Certification of Enforcement Agent Regulations 2014.
Following completion of a six-month training program and the certification process, the Trainee will, with continued training and supervision, undertake enforcement duties e.g. enforcing non-payment of Parking Fines, Moving Traffic Offences, Council Tax and Business Rates. During this period the successful candidate will receive ongoing training and guidance to enable them to fulfil the requirements needed to carry out the duties of an Enforcement Agent.
This is an essential role within Revenue Services as it is necessary to assist with the Council's Budget Strategy primarily generating cost income from the enforcement of Parking Fines and Moving Traffic Offences, also to ensuring there is a contribution to in year targets for Business Rates and Council Tax.
The role involves working with colleagues to ensure performance targets are met you will be responsible for taking prompt and appropriate action to recover debts owed to the Council in accordance with the Courts and Tribunal Act 2007.
What We Are Looking For From You
You will be a highly motivated individual with the drive and ambition to succeed in a challenging role. You will be able to demonstrate confident and assertive communication skills and be able to remain composed in often difficult and challenging situations.
You will be educated to a minimum of GCSE Grade C or above in English or Maths (or equivalent) and have good IT skills.
You must possess a flexible approach to work as you will be required to work within a 37hour per week framework covering 06.00 - 21.00 each week and one Saturday a month - this is subject to change. You should also be able to demonstrate an ability to deal with high pressure situations as this is a challenging role.
