Detailed job description and main responsibilities The postholder will provide specialist clinical expertise within the Breast Oncology service, supporting patients across systemic anticancer therapies, including targeted treatments. Core responsibilities include patient assessment, treatment coordination, toxicity monitoring, and provision of holistic care, alongside active participation in MDT processes to ensure safe, effective, and timely progression through the treatment pathway. The role will contribute to maintaining high standards of patient care, safety, and overall patient experience within the breast oncology service. Person specification Training and Qualifications Essential criteria 1st Level registered Nurse with current registration with NMC First level degree or significant experience within the speciality Desirable criteria Masters Level Experience Essential criteria Significant post-registration experience at Band 6 or above with Oncology Evidence of leading organisation change Desirable criteria Experience of developing standards, guidelines and policies Experience of working as a Clinical Nurse Specialist Experience of setting up a service Analytical & Judgement skills Essential criteria Ability to lead and introduce change Knowledge and understanding of national policy and current issues affecting cancer and its implications for practice Evidence of data collection, evaluation and analysis Desirable criteria Experience of writing audit / research reports for a multi-professional audience Band 7 Requirements Essential criteria Ability to coordinate and lead aspects of the patient pathway Experience contributing to service improvement or pathway development Desirable criteria Qualified Independent Non-Medical Prescriber Come and join our wonderful team at NUH.
