Job Description
Brakes are recruiting for two Merchandising Assistants to join the Merchandising team on a Full Time, Permanent basis. One role will work across the Dairy & Deli team. The second role will work across Desserts, Bakery, Produce & Accompaniments, Catering Supplies, plus the Grocery, Drinks, and Snacks team.
As a Merchandising Assistant you will provide all round support for the Buyers, Category Managers, and Product Development Managers. This is an integral role in supporting the coordination of the team projects. A great opportunity to work with and gain knowledge of Product Development, Procurement, Category & Technical teams.
This role is offering hybrid working with the office based in Ashford, Kent.
Key Accountabilities
3. Working closely with our suppliers
4. Managing proofing of promotion publications
5. Business Insights Reporting
6. Create product updates and bulletins (including new products, discontinued items, and stock issues)
7. Update and take responsibility for product lists (Elist) to ensure information is current
8. Vital Masterfile Management
9. Manage the relationship with accounts payable within the merchandising team
10. Monthly SLT reporting
11. Stepping in to cover Procurement, Product development and Category managers when required
About you;
This role is suited to someone with an excellent work- ethic, team-ship, organisation & communication skills, who is looking for career progression in a global organisation. The successful candidate will ideally have had previous experience working within in an administrative role within a fast paced and rapidly changing environment. You will have an exceptional eye for detail with excellent communication skills, (both written and verbal), with the ability to communicate to stakeholders at all levels. You will be confident working to tight deadlines across different departments utilising your prioritisation and organisational skills. You’ll ideally have experience using SAP, different reporting tools and a good working knowledge all Microsoft Office programmes including Excel. Previous experience in Supply Chain or Merchandising is beneficial, however not essential. You will work directly with Buyers, Category Managers, and Product Development Managers, so this role offers a fantastic opportunity to gain insight, and develop the skills required to succeed in those fields.
