Job Description:
Materials Analysis is an Oxford Instruments Business Unit managing Electron Microscopy, Mechanical Microscopy, Atomic Force Microscopes, Raman Microscopes, and Benchtop NMR Products. Part of the Oxford Instruments Group, with a sixty-year history and fourteen Queen’s Awards for Enterprise, our products help address major 21st-century challenges.
We seek a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Product Development team.

* You are a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer focused on designing high-precision parts, sub-assemblies.
* You excel at leading the mechanical design of new products, sub-systems, and solutions.
* You are comfortable working independently without supervision.

Role and responsibilities:
* Collaborate with marketing to meet customer requirements with creative, cost-effective designs.
* Work with technologists and engineers to optimize solutions.
* Specify and document designs, including requirements, layouts, drawings, BOMs.
* Coordinate with supply chain and suppliers during procurement.
* Assist manufacturing and service departments with new product introduction and existing issues.
* Manage engineering changes via official procedures in our PLM system.
Location and working hours:
Based in High Wycombe on Cressex Business Park, with hybrid work (3 days in-office, 2 at home). 37-hour workweek, finishing Fridays at 12:30.
