Description of Role The Site Controller an important role in partnering and challenging key stakeholders, to meet strategic objectives in Contract Logistics. Overseeing the accuracy and timeliness of finance transactions, the role holder is responsible for providing financial and management information to strict deadlines. As the lead in delivering budgets and forecasts, the Site Controller should provide insight on financial performance, be forward thinking and able to communicate the wider implications of an issue or situation. This Role will be based at our site in Doncaster 5 Days per week. General Responsibilities: Responsible for the delivery of accurate, relevant, reliable and timely financial and management reporting in Contract Logistics. Ensure that there are robust finance and control processes embedded. Proactively instigate continuous improvement and best practice reviews. Ensure that financial processes and reporting complies with Company Policies, Financial Regulations, and Statutory Requirements. Support and challenge key stakeholders to deliver strategic and financial objectives. Specific Responsibilities: Deliver accurate, relevant, and reliable financial and management reporting, to agreed deadlines. Investigate variances to forecast and budget, working with key stakeholders to take corrective action. Provide clear and forward-thinking insight on financial performance, and information for decision-making. Proactively business partner the ALT and Product teams, ensuring the drivers for achieving the business targets are well understood and applied appropriately Coordinate and manage the budget and financial forecasts, engaging with the business to take ownership of deliverables. Take ownership of customer level reporting and support the operation in delivering key contractual KPI’s. Proactively support the business with the financial strategy and decision-making processes. Ensure all reporting and financial records are compliant with Company Policies, Financial Regulations, Statutory Requirements, and best practice. Continuously develop robust financial controls. Proactively identify and support the business to manage financial risks and maximise opportunities. Document and regularly review business processes to enhance internal controls Drive continuous improvement in controlling costs, supporting strategic objectives and improve business performance. Key skills for the role: Technical skills: Highly analytical and detailed orientated. MS Office, specifically advanced in Excel Desirable - hands on experience of SAP/FACT, preferably including business warehouse or business intelligence modules. Soft skills: Ability to plan, prioritise and manage workload, with minimum supervision. Partnering key stakeholders - build strong and value - adding relationships. Support and challenge stakeholders to achieve financial and strategic objectives. Problem solving. Ability to identify issues, assess the impact and offer solutions. Take ownership, ensuring problems are resolved promptly and efficiently. Attention to detail. Forward – thinking - ability to understand and communicate the wider implications of an issue or situation. Communicate effectively Flexible, with a can-do attitude. Qualifications & Experience Financial acumen (graduate degree level or equivalent) Relevant experience working in a financial reporting role Desirable - experience within warehousing or an industry-facing role.
