Cardiac Physiologist

We have an opportunity to support the development of a newly qualified Cardiac Physiologist within our team at Hampshire Hospital Foundation Trust, or to further develop a less experienced professional who would benefit from our team educational structure.
Our welcoming, dynamic and enthusiastic physiology team provides highly specialised cardiac testing for adult patients across the Hampshire area, and we are proud of the preceptorship programme offered to newly qualified staff.
As part of our programme, you will gain competence in many areas including:
* Non‑invasive testing – ECG, Holter monitoring, analysis, assisting in DSEs
* Echocardiography
* Assisting in pacemaker and ILR implant
* Performing pacemaker and ILR follow‑up (including remote follow‑up)
* Cardiac catheter lab – including the 24‑hour PPCI service (an on‑call room is available for this)
Following completion of the 12‑18‑month preceptorship, you will specialise in your area of interest and work towards professional accreditation.
Main duties of the job
* Perform routine, urgent and emergency cardiac investigations competently and complete an accurate report based on your findings in a timely manner.
* Complete a preceptorship logbook of evidence and assessments to demonstrate clinical competence.
* Perform clinical audit and surveys, within scope of practice, to improve the services delivered by the department.
* Participate in the on‑call 24‑hour primary PCI rota.
* Participate in the training and development of external university students and junior team members.
* Communicate and interact effectively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure a safe and positive patient experience.
* Assist all senior colleagues in the day‑to‑day organisation and delivery of the cardiac physiology service.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Degree in Clinical/Cardiac Physiology or equivalent
* 2:1 or above
Communication
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Evidence of working in a team
Knowledge and Enthusiasm
* Demonstration of motivation and development within the field
