Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Assistant to join our Pharmacy team on a part‑time basis at HMP Wealstun, a busy category C male training and resettlement prison near Wetherby. This is a rare opportunity to join a close‑knit Pharmacy team within a unique working environment where no two days are the same. You will work in our onsite pharmacy – dispensing medication, second‑checking, preparing prescriptions, etc. We are looking for an experienced dispenser with an NVQ Level 2.
Hours and Salary
Hours: 12 hours per week, 08:00‑17:00, Monday to Friday (no weekends or bank holidays; flexible shifts to fit your needs). Salary: up to £29,723 per annum (FTE) depending on experience.

Main duties
* Work within the onsite pharmacy alongside a team of 14.
* Support Pharmacy Technicians, the Pharmacy Manager and the wider healthcare team.
* Label and dispense medications, and prepare prescriptions.
* Second‑check controlled drugs.
* Contribute to medicine reconciliation, stock management and medicine transport.
* Ensure a safe and secure medicines‑management service following policies, procedures and SOPs.

Qualifications and experience
* NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Dispensing.
* Experience within a pharmacy – community, hospital or secure setting.
* Experience in a patient/customer facing role.
* Compassionate, non‑judgmental approach.
