Assistant Learning Mentor
13 hours per week. Working Thursday and Friday – 8.30am – 3.30pm. Part-time, Term Time Only, Permanent. Role will start on 1st September 2026. Grade 6 (SCP 12-17). £28,792 - £31,022 per annum, pro rata (£8,696 - £9,369 actual salary per annum).
Our vision is for our mentor team to continue to tackle barriers to learning, promote pupil engagement, reduce the risk of exclusions and form a highly effective provision alongside our established wellbeing team, SEND provision and wider learning support model. As well as working with identified pupils, within your mentoring role, you will take on a highly effective and well-established pupil volunteering system.
Responsibilities
* Work alongside another Assistant Learning Mentor in the team.
* Support our pupils, families and staff to help children overcome barriers and get the most out of school life.
* Support and build on all of the key work led by the SENCO and act as a professional sounding board for new ideas.
* Have the resilience and creativity to work with challenging pupils on a day-to-day basis and to form positive bonds with them and their families – taking a key lead from the Assistant Head.
Qualifications
* Background in schools with proven expertise in pupil support, including working with challenging and potentially marginalised pupils and their families.
