Role Overview
The Vehicle Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining and repairing commercial buses, ensuring maximum uptime, safety, and operational efficiency. The role requires strong technical knowledge of heavy vehicles, hands-on problem-solving ability, and the capability to supervise semi-skilled technicians.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
1. Diagnose and repair mechanical faults and breakdowns.
2. Perform general servicing and maintenance of buses.
3. Replace and repair major components such as engines and gearboxes.
4. Ensure compliance with ISO standards and government safety regulations.
5. Supervise and guide semi-skilled technicians in daily tasks.
6. Use diagnostic equipment and interpret maintenance manuals.
7. Apply best practices for maintaining Euro 6 engines.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
8. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanics / Mechanical Engineering (Master’s degree is an advantage).
9. Vocational training (ITI or equivalent) with relevant experience may be considered.
10. Minimum 3 years of experience in a workshop environment.
11. Proven experience handling heavy vehicles (buses/trucks).
12. Must-Have Skills:
Euro 6 engine maintenance
Gearbox and engine replacement
Handling diagnostic tools
13. Ability to interpret maintenance manuals.
14. Basic MS Office proficiency.
15. English proficiency: Minimum B2 level
Greek/Spanish is an added advantage.

Compensation & Benefits
19. Gross Annual Salary: €17,251 – €26,000 (based on experience & skills).
20. Salary Structure: 13 salaries/year (12 months + Christmas bonus).
21. Annual Increment: COLA (~2%).
22. Working Hours: 40 hours/week (38 base + 2 hrs overtime).
23. Working Days: 5 out of 7.
24. Overtime Pay:
Mon–Sat:
Sundays & Public Holidays: 2x
25. Shift Differential: +5% for shifts after 2pm.
26. Accommodation: Private room in shared apartment (up to 25% salary deduction as per Cyprus law).
27. Utilities & Cleaning: Included (fair usage).
28. Food: Not provided.
29. Transportation: Free monthly bus pass (Nicosia district).
30. Medical Coverage:
Covered under Cyprus National Health System
Employee contribution:
Annual cap: €150
31. Provident Fund:
After 6 months: Employer contributes 6%
Employee may contribute 6%, 10%, or 15%.
