Senior / Principal Electrical Engineer – Critical Infrastructure ($1B+ Project)

The Opportunity
Join a nationally recognised engineering firm delivering landmark infrastructure projects across Australia. The next five years will see this role embedded in a $1B+ water and wastewater infrastructure program, paving the way for a subsequent $500M expansion — both critical to the region’s long-term growth and sustainability.
As a Senior / Principal Electrical Engineer, you’ll lead the design, analysis, and delivery of LV/HV power systems, MCCs, switchgear, protection systems, and PLC/SCADA integration. You’ll work alongside multidisciplinary teams, mentoring junior engineers and collaborating closely with clients, contractors, and authorities.
Key Responsibilities
Lead electrical design for major water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
Undertake system studies (load flow, arc flash, fault level, protection coordination).
Specify and review electrical equipment including MCCs, VSDs, transformers, and UPS.
Provide leadership from concept through commissioning.
Ensure compliance with Australian Standards and WHS legislation.
About You
Degree-qualified Electrical Engineer (CPEng highly regarded).
8+ years’ experience in electrical design for water, wastewater, or infrastructure.
Proficient in SKM PTW, ETAP, or PowerFactory.
Strong grasp of LV/HV protection, earthing, and switchgear design.
Excellent leadership, communication, and mentoring capability.
