KLA’s Central Engineering organization includes 9 Centers‑of‑Excellence across disciplines such as handling & automation, precision motion control, sensors & image acquisition, platform design and packaging engineering, with talent in global centers in Israel, China, India and the US.
Job Description
KLA is seeking an entry‑level Environmental Compliance Engineer to ensure compliance with environmental regulations across all divisions, including tools, spare parts, packaging and chemical substances. The role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams – engineering, IT, legal, supply chain, customer experience and others – to support environmental sustainability initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
* Support material compliance evaluations across KLA.
* Analyze Bills of Materials to ensure regulatory alignment.
* Perform ‘where‑used’ analysis of identified parts in enterprise systems such as SAP and Enovia.
* Evaluate and respond to supplier feedback from surveys.
* Track and close out open issues with suppliers, customers or internal partners.
* Work on regulatory and customer reporting requirements.
* Prepare technical reports detailing chemical substances present in parts and products for regulations such as REACH, RoHS, POP, TSCA, SCIP.
* Research supplier compliance information on REACH, RoHS, etc.
* Find and evaluate Safety Data Sheets for environmental compliance information.
* Build and submit SCIP dossiers for compliance with the Waste Framework Directive.
Program Development and Data Analysis
* Design systems for record‑keeping and reporting of environmental compliance data.
* Conduct data analysis of S23 energy reports for the Global Impact Report and identify opportunities for energy reduction.
* Integrate data into Enovia to run ‘where‑used’ analyses and identify impacted parts as new materials transition from a watch list to a restricted list.
* Identify and ensure the tracking of key performance indicators.
Additional Responsibilities
* Collect company‑wide shipment data and generate laser and X‑ray reports to FDA.
* Generate compliance labels and templates, declarations of conformity.
Minimum Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Environmental Science, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
* Experience in environmental compliance and regulatory reporting.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
* Familiarity with enterprise systems including SAP, Enovia, eQuality.
* Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
