Radis Community Care has an opportunity for a Senior Support Worker/ Team Leader to join our Supported Living service in Maypole Birmingham
Our Supported Living Service in Maypole is 22 bedded home to young adults with learning disabilities and mental health requirements. They enjoy various activities, many social events and outings together as well as having their own individual interests. We require caring and considerate people to support these young adults to enjoy each day to the full.
About the role
As a Team Leader you will provide support to our Supported Living Service, providing specialised person centred support. Radis recognise each person as an individual and provide a unique service which is tailored to their specific needs and provide a consistent approach throughout their life.
To work alongside the Managers of our Supported Living Services- overseeing the smooth running of these services, completing regular audits, checks, supervisions, spot checks, updating and reviewing support plans and working to ensure that individuals achieve their outcomes.
The role will require you to schedule / allocate work to the Support Workers, support with medication, personal care tasks and covering shifts within the services.
The hours are split between care hours and office hours, including alternate weekends
Skills and Qualifications required for the role
Previous experience working with individuals with Learning Disabilities, autism and mental health issues
Previous experience as a Team Leader is essential. The successful candidate will have an NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care working towards Level 3. You will have good written and verbal communication skills and have a willingness to learn in line with clients needs and expectations.
This role requires you to undergo an enhanced DBS check. Drivers required due to localities

As a Team Leader you will provide support to our extra care complex, providing specialised support to individuals. Radis recognise each person as an individual and provide a unique service which is tailored to their specific needs and provide a consistent approach throughout their life.
You will be the first point of contact for the package, providing supervisions / meetings and support to the Care Workers. The role will require you to schedule / allocate work to the Care Workers ensuring personal care and all care tasks are client specific. You will also support with medication, personal care tasks and offer support within the community.
You will also be required participate in the on-call rota and provide cover for care and Radis’ housing related support duties when emergency cover is required.

Skills and Qualifications required for the role
Previous experience as a Team Leader will be advantageous but not essential. The successful candidate will have an NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care working towards Level 3. You will have good written and verbal commination skills and have a willingness to learn in line with clients needs and expectations.
This role requires you to undergo an enhanced DBS check. A driving licence with access to a vehicle will also be advantageous as some travel may be required for the role.
