Multiskilled Electrician

Salary: Starting from £30,805, rising to £37,174

We wish to appoint an Electrician to join the team!
The Campus Infrastructure Department is responsible for the strategic planning, development, and management of the University’s lands and buildings. You will join the Electrical Services team.
Your new job will involve:
1. Undertaking small to medium-sized installation and alteration works as part of building refurbishment or change of use projects.
2. Performing planned and reactive maintenance activities in the University's academic buildings, residences, and sports facilities.
3. Carrying out repair tasks across electrical building services, plant, and equipment.
4. Performing some simple mechanical work.
You must have:
1. Completed a recognised electrical apprenticeship, with a qualification at minimum City & Guilds NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
2. A BS 7671 18th edition certificate.
3. Relevant technical experience in larger buildings or commercial facilities.
4. Good problem-solving, customer service, and communication skills.
Ideally, you will also have:
1. Knowledge and experience in maintaining modern fire alarm systems, emergency lighting, LV distribution, intruder alarms, access control systems, and telephone and data wiring.
2. Mechanical skills or willingness to train in this area.
Further information:
This is a full-time role, working 36.5 hours (Monday-Friday).
You will be required to participate in an on-call rota, which attracts an additional allowance, with overtime opportunities also available.
