Library Assistant at Handforth Library An exciting opportunity has become available to work within the Wilmslow cluster of libraries, including Alderley Edge, Handforth and Wilmslow. Step into a role where every day brings something new from recommending the next great novel to supporting community events and helping visitors of all ages make the most of their local libraries. This part time position is for 9.50 hours (0.26 FTE) per week worked over a two week timetable. Working patten: Week 1: Friday 9.45 - 1.30pm and Saturday 9.15 - 1pm Week 2: Tuesday 2 - 6pm, Friday 10 - 1.30pm and Saturday 9 - 1pm About you Do you want to work in a customer facing role within the Library and Information Service? This is an opportunity for you to join the Wilmslow cluster of libraries, busy community libraries that provides a quality and diverse range of services for its customers. We are looking for someone who has a wide range of skills and wants to make a real difference in the community. If you are committed to providing excellent customer service and can contribute cheerfully and positively to an efficient quality library service, then the Wilmslow cluster could be the place for you. We currently have a vacancy for a Library Assistant to work 9.50 hours per week. We need you to have the energy and enthusiasm to deliver the services we provide and be able to work as part of a small or larger teams of dedicated staff carrying out a wide range of library duties, responding to the needs of the Council's Customer Service Point located in the libraries and be involved in assisting and running events for both adults and children. The successful candidate will have: Experience in customer focused environment. The ability to converse at ease with our internal and external customers. Awareness of library service policies and procedures. The ability to assist and run events for both adults and children. Experience in ICT to ECDL level. A high degree of interpersonal skills. The ability to administer cash transactions and perform charges. A flexible approach to work.
