SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant required
Academics are working with a delightful and well-resourced primary school located in the south of Stoke-on-Trent who are seeking a skilled and dedicated SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team on a supply basis through the agency.
This is a long-term position working closely with a pupil with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, initially on a reduced timetable with the view of progressing to full-time hours until the end of the summer term.
The Role
* Provide high-quality 1:1 support for a primary-aged pupil with SEMH needs.
* Work initially on a reduced timetable, gradually increasing to full-time as the placement develops.
* Support the pupil in accessing learning, managing emotions, and engaging positively with the school environment.
* Implement tailored strategies to promote emotional regulation, resilience, and independence.
* Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCO, and external agencies as needed.
* Maintain a calm, consistent, and nurturing approach at all times.

1. The pupil has identified SEMH needs that can present as challenging behaviour.
