Job summary Burns and Plastics | Part Time 20 hrs per week An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our established burns and plastics therapy team. Sheffield Children's Hospital is a Major Trauma Centre, and houses a regional Burns Unit along with elective plastic surgery, upper and lower limb trauma and hand injuries. We are looking to recruit a motivated, flexible and innovative physiotherapist to work within our friendly, supportive, integrated burns and plastics team, working with children from 0-16 years. In these roles you will act as a source of expertise and demonstrate advanced knowledge and experience within your respective fields. The team is supportive and passionate about making a difference to children and their families, and we're looking for a compassionate, accountable person who values respect, teamwork, and excellence in care. You will find a strong commitment to professional training and development, together with experienced peer group support. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, dynamic and adaptable, have a keen interest in ongoing learning and have experience in supervising and managing junior and assistant staff and students. Main duties of the job Reporting into the BOPP's Team Leader, some of your responsibilities will include: o To provide a highly specialised service that includes the assessment, treatment and management of children and adolescents within the specialities of trauma & orthopaedics, spinal surgery, limb reconstruction, Burns and Plastics. o To act as a source of expertise and demonstrate advanced knowledge and experience in the highly skilled management of children within these specialities. o To provide specialist advice to other multi-professional staff and to provide clinical education and training to others including Band 6 therapists, assistant staff and students. o To take a lead role in the management of more difficult and complex cases within a multi-disciplinary team approach acting as an autonomous practitioner. o To work as part of the BOPP's Sunday working service.
