We are delighted to be partnering with a number of welcoming and inclusive secondary schools across Northampton who are looking to appoint Learning Support Assistants to join their teams as soon as possible or from January 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is committed, caring, and eager to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students with special educational needs (SEN).
Whether you're experienced in school support or looking to take your first step into the education sector, this role offers invaluable experience and the chance to positively influence a young person's future.
What You'll Be Doing
Providing one-to-one and small group support for students with a variety of additional needs
Assisting teachers with differentiated tasks, classroom routines, and resource preparation
Supporting students with autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, SEMH needs, and other SEN
Encouraging pupils to develop confidence, independence, and engagement in learning
Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing across the school day
Helping create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment
We're Looking For Someone Who
Is passionate about helping young people succeed, particularly those with SEN
Has a calm, patient, and empathetic approach to learning support
Communicates clearly and builds strong, positive relationships with students and staff
Is reliable, adaptable, and works well within a team
Ideally has experience in education, care, youth work, or SEN support (not essential)
Shows enthusiasm for learning new skills and developing within a school role
