Health & Safety Advisor

£33, per annum
Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:30pm

We are partnering with a well-established and respected company based in Wickford, seeking a proactive and motivated Health & Safety Advisor to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about creating safe working environments and driving a strong safety culture across the business.
Key Responsibilities
1. Develop and implement robust health and safety policies, procedures, and guidelines tailored to the business needs.
2. Conduct risk assessments and site inspections to identify hazards and recommend effective control measures.
3. Promote a proactive safety culture by collaborating with teams and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
4. Deliver expert advice and training on health and safety matters, including PPE usage and safe working practices.
5. Investigate incidents and near misses, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
6. Monitor and analyse safety performance, producing reports to highlight trends and drive continuous improvement.
7. Stay up to date with legislation and industry standards, ensuring policies remain compliant and relevant.
8. Build strong relationships with external regulatory bodies and clients, representing the company professionally.
9. Lead audits and inspections, identifying non-compliance and recommending practical solutions.
10. Act as the main point of contact for health and safety communications, awareness campaigns, and training initiatives.
11. Travel off-site to meet clients, contractors, and engineers during routine visits.
About You
12. Proven experience in health and safety within the industry or a related field.
13. Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation, regulations, and best practices.
14. Excellent communication skills for delivering clear briefings, training, and reports.
15. Analytical and problem-solving ability to identify risks and develop solutions.
16. Highly proactive, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities independently.
17. Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant software for reporting and analysis.
18. Professional certifications such as IOSH membership or similar qualifications are highly desirable.
